Vormetric to Present at Cloud Security Alliance Summit at RSA Conference 2012
Robert Bigman Will Debunk Five Cloud Security Myths and Provide Best Practices for Preventing Data Breaches
WHO: Ashvin Kamaraju, vice president of product development for enterprise encryption vendor Vormetric, Inc. Mr. Kamaraju is an expert on data security, encryption and key management, and distributed file systems. He has held executive technology management positions with Symantec, VERITAS Software and Sun Microsystems where he contributed to the Solaris operating system. He has a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Cincinnati.
Moderator: Tim Mather, Advisory Director, KPMG
Panelists: Marc S. Crandall, JD, CIPP, Senior Manager of Global Compliance Enterprise, Google Baber Amin, Senior Director of Product Management, CA Technologies Chris Wysopal, CTO, Veracode
WHAT: Current security standards are based on historical, legacy information technologies and don’t necessarily address security in cloud computing environments in an effective manner. Attempts to update them are an improvement, but will we be able to create a single (or limited) number of standards that will be viable across borders and jurisdictions? This panel discussion will cover the current standards, their applicability and a look into the future of cloud computing standards.
Mr. Kamaraju’s team architected Vormetric Data Security for Amazon Web Services which enables enterprises to secure data in the cloud while maintaining control of encryption keys and enforcing centralized security policies for on-premise and cloud environments. Vormetric protects data regardless of whether it is located in physical, virtual, or cloud environments including Amazon EC2. It can control access to data at the server, process and user level, even as it moves between the datacenter and the cloud. The unique follow-me policy capability developed by Mr. Kamaraju’s team provides complete data security across private, public or hybrid cloud environments.
